Village Water Wells

Story of The Village Well - Padu Palem
-2017-

There is a rural village named Padu Palem, which is in the Krishna District in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India.

The total number of people in this village is 1027, this bore well was funded by Holy Family School, year 7 students. The Students did a Sleepover Experience, sleeping on the school floor to imitate the conditions of being poor. They asked their family and friends to sponsor them, which raised a tremendous amount of money.  Thanks to them, 490 families now have clean drinking water.

This Well cost GBP£750 to install and the remaining money raised was put towards another Well in a different village.

The Well is located next to the Village school and is available for locals and travellers, passing through.

The local villagers are grateful to have this bore well, so easily accessible and it has truely changed their lives.

Thank you Year 7 (2017) Holy Family School
